The Viborg Community Foundations is producing a commemorative deck of cards that are now available for purchase. Price is $10 per deck and you may order them at the Merchant’s State bank. There will be a limited quantity of these decks produced, so make sure you get your orders in early.

Each card will display current or historical Viborg businesses and organizations along with information and trivia. The decks make great gifts or keepsakes.  Get yours TODAY !

Customer Appreciation Day – Viborg Development Corporation

Since the Viborg Development Corporation has Organized a community “Customer Appreciation Day” to give to the area businesses a chance to thank their customers for the patronage over the year. A pancake and sausage brunch is served in the morning and a free movie, treats, and a visit from Santa for the kids in the afternoon.
The eighth Annual “Community Appreciation Day” is set for December 5, 2009 at the Viborg Community Center, It will be here very soon. We are asking for donations of cash to help offset the cost of the event. Businesses may also donate a prize to be given away that day. Among the prizes to be given away (as in previous years) will be “Viborg Bucks”, and other gifts such as oil changes, gift certificates, Christmas decorations, fire extinguishers, videos of popular movies and more. We are giving away mostly “Viborg Bucks” so that the individual winner will be able to utilize any business in Viborg to spend their winnings.
We will need help setting up tables, chairs, the serving line (and helping to serve), making coffee, pancakes,sausages , helping elderly and children carry their plates and drinks to their seat and clean up after the event.
Because there is so much to do we will need help beginning at 8:30 AM. Serving of the brunch will begin at 11 AM. Also some help will be needed during the visit from Santa Clause after the movie
As everyone enters the Community Center there will be a large sign listing all those contributing to this year’s appreciate day. In addition,every business owner, manager
or employee is encouraged to wear a t-shirt, cap or name tag advertising his or her business.
You may donate now or wait, but to help facilitate the process, the sooner the better. Please indicate your contribution with Lois Munkvold, Carol Slack, Paul Jensen, John Berto, or John Overby. Also, please place this event on your calendar and consider comng to help or send an employee. Your help in this event is greatly appreciated.

Viborg Library Book Club will attend a discussion and tour at the Childrens Inn in Sioux Falls ,SD. October 5,2009.”Crazy Love” by Leslie Morgan Steiner is recommended reading for the discussion on abusive love.
